HIV Stigma Pledge Cards

Client

U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Let’s Stop HIV Together (Together) Campaign

Roles

Digital Design Strategist // Graphic Designer // Illustrator

Problem

Previous HIV stigma materials for the Together campaign focused on education but lacked engagement, failing to encourage direct action or personal commitment. While they helped dispel myths and promote inclusivity, they did little to foster deeper community involvement.

Goal

Create a more interactive product that fosters commitment and creates actionable goals for the community.

Action

Printed pledge cards were designed for in-person events to encourage people to take a pledge to stop HIV stigma or take a card with them to encourage someone else to. Alongside in-person community engagement, the pledge cards were expanded to broader social media campaign with GIPHY stickers and posts.

Six years later, these pledge cards remain among Together’s most popular materials. The series has expanded to include two new tailored approaches for Pride season and Spanish-speaking audiences.
